Week End in Los Olivos
My boyfriend Rick and I love wine tasting on the Central California Coast. Los Olivos, a quaint little town located in the Santa Ynez Valley, is one of our very favorite haunts! . Although it is an historic town, today Los Olivos showcases modern wine tasting rooms, both old school and new upscale restaurants, art galleries, and clothing boutiques. The easy, laid back vibe makes Los Olivos the perfect getaway destination!
St. Helena Restaurants
Napa is a mecca for food and wine; however my best-loved town for both is St. Helena. Today we want to talk about restaurants in St. Helena. I actually have a home there and, having visited for many years, I have favorite places I like to eat, both reasonably priced and a bit more expensive. I hoped you might be interested in the perspective of someone who actually has been multiple times to each of these restaurants.

Culver City Restaurants Update 2023
For the past decade (or maybe longer) Culver City has experienced nothing short of a renaissance! Some of our new favorite restaurants are in Culver City: Bianca, Margot & Etta. We wanted to share our Culver City dining experiences.
Girls’ Trip to Nashville
We love Nashville! From the fabulous Omni Hotel, to the spectacular Nashville food, to the many sights that the city has to offer, and, of course, to the extraordinary music playing in the bars up and down Broadway, this truly was a trip of a lifetime. And spending time with our BFFs made it all the more spectacular. Let us tell you all about it…..
Park City Springtime Getaway
As we explained in an earlier post, we are starved for travel! When our friend Christy invited us to accompany her to Park City, Utah, we jumped at the chance. Our plans were shopping, sightseeing and eating, but we were surprised by this springtime snow storm. Nonetheless we persevered and had the best time ever.
St. Helena Weekend Guide
As I have mentioned in a previous post, I have a vacation home in Napa Valley. It has been tough to spend much time there during COVID, but as things are opening up, I decided to take a road trip to Napa. Currently my daughter and her fiancé are living in my home, so I was excited to visit! There is so much to do and see in Napa Valley that I cannot do it justice in one blog. I have decided to split it in two. Today's post will cover some of my favorite local haunts.
Incomparable Costa Rica
I am excited to write about the amazing trip that I took to Costa Rica with my friend Tina. At the same time, I will never be able to do this country justice. It was my first trip and, it is now apparent, that you truly can't do and see the country in a brief eight days.. Also it seems that the most relevant things to do divide into two categories: exploring nature or partaking in the many exciting activities. We decided to explore nature. I am therefore unable to talk about zip-lining, white water rafting, surfing, sailing or the myriad of adventures that are available. One last thing, as you will see from the photos, don't expect to look perfectly pulled together. It is very humid so trying to look your best at all times is impossible; or at least it was for me. But trust me; it is a remarkable place!
ASD Reads (and Entertains): The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue
We love being in a book club. We get to read books that we would probably never have opened, mingle with friends and enjoy dinner at one member's home. COVID has relegated us to zoom for over a year, so I was very excited to host the first in person dinner! Since we hadn't seen the group for quite awhile, I tried to make it special.
Sunkissed Week-End in Cabo San Lucas
It seems impossible that you can take a trip to Mexico for just a week-end, but that is exactly what Harriet and I did. Living in Southern California makes Cabo an easy breezy vaca spot; it takes just a couple of hours to get there and when you arrive you are treated to a casual but elegant week-end. If you aren’t familiar with Cabo San Lucas, it is located on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. Cabo is renowned for beautiful beaches, great hotels, many exceptional restaurants and a very active nightlife. There are golf courses galore, lots of fishing expeditions and almost any water sport you can imagine. One of the most famous sights is the arch of Cabo San Lucas which is the exact spot where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.
