ASD Book Club: Properties of Thirst
One of the most compelling works of historical fiction that Harriet and I have read this year, Properties of Thirst by Marianne Wiggins is set during World War II in the Owens Valley California. Focusing on this period of time, Wiggins interweaves the story of the Rhodes family with events that shaped both California and the U.S.
ASD Book Club: Demon Copperhead
Today we are highlighting our favorite book of 2023: Demon Copperhead. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, it is a compelling story of the struggles of life in the Appalachians. It was our June Book Club selection; the varied responses will give you insight into this inspiring (although sometimes difficult) story.
Evereve Spring Style Party
Last week-end we hosted a Spring Style Event at Evereve, one of our favorite stores. What’s more fun than sipping champagne while you shop for your new spring outfit? Come on in as we show you some of our favorite pics of the event….
ASD Book Club: Horse
If you are looking for a good read for March, look no further than Horse by Geraldine Brooks. Both Harriet and I really enjoyed this book which tells the story of Lexington, the famous Kentucky race horse. Let us share some of our insights with you…

Join us for a quick review of The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave and a fun overview of our July Book Club dinner
ASD Reads (and Entertains): The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue
We love being in a book club. We get to read books that we would probably never have opened, mingle with friends and enjoy dinner at one member's home. COVID has relegated us to zoom for over a year, so I was very excited to host the first in person dinner! Since we hadn't seen the group for quite awhile, I tried to make it special.
"Alice in Wonderland" Bridal Shower
When Harriet's daughter, Lindsay, announced she was getting married we simply had to plan a bridal shower. Lindsay wanted a themed event: Alice in Wonderland.
We came up with several options, but what we decided on was a bit more Tim Burton than Disney. We wanted whimsical and fun but with a bit of sophistication thrown in.
Fall Trend Presentation: Grand View League for American Cancer Society
Harriet and I were so honored to be invited to present at the Grand View League luncheon to support the American Cancer Society on October 11th. One of Harriet's life long friends, Jeri Finch, is a member of this amazing group; she recommended Ageless Style Directory as the featured presentation. We were thrilled to participate for such a worthy cause.
ba&sh Collaboration & Holiday Shopping Event
Happy rainy Sunday! We can’t wait to tell you about our recent collaboration with the French Contemporary brand ba&sh. Wendy & I hosted a private holiday shopping event at their Beverly Hills boutique on Friday. We love their story as it’s similar to ours in creating Ageless Style Directory. Two best friends Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief created ba&sh in order to share their dream wardrobe with other women. “A brand truly made by women for women.” We created our blog to share our fashion & lifestyle insight with women everywhere. We’re all about women helping women!
