Wine Tasting in Beaune (comments from a novice!)
On my trip to Beaune, I was lucky enough to visit several wineries and learn a bit about French wines. For me, everything about French wine has always been a mystery. In this post I discuss what I learned. It is very basic…definitely not a post for an experienced French wine connoisseur. Dinner at Bouchon Bistro
If you are planning a trip to the Napa Valley, Bouchon Bistro should be on your itinerary. Opened in 1998 by Thomas Keller, this Michelin Star restaurant is reminiscent of the bistros in Paris; the food, the service and the casual vibe make this Yountville institution a “must visit”
Week End in Los Olivos
My boyfriend Rick and I love wine tasting on the Central California Coast. Los Olivos, a quaint little town located in the Santa Ynez Valley, is one of our very favorite haunts! . Although it is an historic town, today Los Olivos showcases modern wine tasting rooms, both old school and new upscale restaurants, art galleries, and clothing boutiques. The easy, laid back vibe makes Los Olivos the perfect getaway destination!

Napa is a mecca for food and wine; however my best-loved town for both is St. Helena. Today we want to talk about restaurants in St. Helena. I actually have a home there and, having visited for many years, I have favorite places I like to eat, both reasonably priced and a bit more expensive. I hoped you might be interested in the perspective of someone who actually has been multiple times to each of these restaurants.

Ivy At The Shore
The Ivy at the Shore is a perennial favorite of many Southern Californians including Harriet and me. Located in Santa Monica just across from the very famous Santa Monica Pier, it has been a staple in the area for decades. It is a bit pricey, but we were celebrating our dear friend Pam's departure for her new home in Minneapolis so we decided to splurge.
