The Best Ruffle Sleeve Tops
Hi and Happy Summer,
It’s definitely hot here in Southern California and everyone is flocking to the beach, the pool or where ever they can find shade. As we have mentioned before, we both are lucky enough to live in the South Bay very near the ocean which helps keep us a bit cooler. It’s supposed to subside after this week so fingers crossed!
Ruffle sleeves are not new; I have been wearing this style of sleeve for several years. I tend to gravitate to feminine styling so this look is perfect for my aesthetic. But it really has become a major trend for summer. We wanted to share some of our favorite styles.
This top is from a brand I have never worn before: Caballero. I purchased it at one of my favorite Redondo Beach boutiques, Alandrea. The Alissyn Top in 100% cotton jacquard stripe complete with ruffles, and open lace at neck in front. It hits at the perfect length; can be worn ticked in or out. It’s a bit pricey at $195.00 but super versatile and perfect for summer.
Since I wasn’t familiar with this brand, I visited their website and thought I would highlight a couple of other ruffle styles that you might want to check out. They also have some great print options but most were already sold out.
This triple ruffle shirt from Nation is actually a tee. My top is the Valentina which comes in a multitude of colors and is super comfortable. The sleeves are actually triple ruffled but since the body is so simple, I think it really works. Nation has specialized in interesting sleeves for several seasons so it’s no surprise that they have several great ruffle shoulder styles to choose from. Below are a couple of favorites.
As I stated, my style definitely leans very girly so ruffles have been part of my wardrobe for years. The top I am wearing is one of my favorites. It is from J. Crew last year but I still wear it all f the time. I love clean, crisp white tops. It is actually still available and it’s on sale (see below) I have also shown a couple of other great white options.
Even if your taste doesn’t necessarily lean feminine, ruffles are so on trend that you might to give it a try. There are also some fabulous dress styles with ruffle sleeves. Let us know if you need any info on these styles. Always happy to help.
XO,
Wendy
