The Versatile Midi Slip Skirt: The Perfect Transition From Winter to Spring
It’s not so easy to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. The new collections are just starting to come into the stores or on line, so there isn’t a lot to chose from. One of the easiest ways is with a midi slip skirt. These skirts have been around for years but they keep getting reinvented because they are so easy to wear and so versatile. Add a jacket and they take you from winter to spring. The skirt I am wearing is from Zara’s new collection. I love the print and it’s perfect for a casual day out. But there are so many varieties of slip skirts at every price point. Below are a few of my favorite print midi slip skirts
The slip skirt is available at all different prices. They can be constructed from silk, satin, rayon or polyester. Regardless of the fabrication, the critical component is the soft, flowing nature of the skirt. The versatility is obvious. Worn with a button front cardi, a cropped sweater or a turtleneck tee, the skirt looks great in any combination.
As I said, midi slip skirts have been around for awhile. The black one worn above was purchased three or four years ago. It is by Vince: and a similar version it is still on their line. I also own one in navy; Harriet has several as well. One of the best things about this skirt is it can be worn in so many ways for so many occasions. I was actually on my way to dinner when this shot was taken. But the midi slip skirt can be super casual or dressed up for a special occasion. Some of the options are shown below…
I think the looks shown demonstrate how unbelievably versatile the midi slip skirt can be. From just below the knee to just above the ankle, this skirt looks great on everyone. It can be very dressed up, super casual or something in between. It is the perfect transitional piece. If you have one or decide to buy one, this is a perfect skirt to take you from winter through spring.
