Perfect Fall Transition: The Olive Drab Pant

Transitioning from summer to a fall wardrobe can be tricky. I always think the answer is dark denim or a classic black pant. But for the past couple of seasons, my “go to” pant has been the Paige olive drab Drew Utility Pocket pant. It is the perfect weight to go from summer to fall. It can be worn casual or a bit dressed up. It is the perfect solution to transition dressing!

The Paige Drew pant worn super casual mixed with a pink striped top from Anthropologie

When worn with a pale pink shade, this pant works perfectly in summer. Add a pink jacket and you are ready to go right into fall. I love a cuffed pant for a more caual vibe. However, if you are back to the office after summer break, an olive drab color still works!

I think this look is perfect for the office! Change the sneaks for boots, add a sleeveless lightweight sweater and a cropped trench, and you are ready to go. The trench is from Zara and I love the medium length. It’s perfect when paired with the Drew pant or even with jeans.

When worn with a neutral shade, olive drab still looks great. This cowl neck sweater is from Anthropologie and is a fabulous transitional piece. It is ideal worn under the trench as shown above but looks perfect on it’s own. Out for a casual dinner after work? This is the ideal outfit.

You can even pair the Paige Drew pant with a shimmer top for a more dressed up ensemble. This top is also from Anthropologie and although it’s sold out, any piece with shine will work. I added a gold sandal, a small gold shoulder bag and a chunky link necklace ( all from my closet) to complete this look.

So if you are a bit tired of transitioning from summer to fall with the same old denim or black pant, try an olive drab bottom. Although I love Paige, almost every contemporary line has a similar style. Try the best selling Caden Trouser from AG Jeans or the Marcelle Low Slung Easy Cargo from Citizens of Humanity. If you aren’t really sure if an olive pant is right for you, Target’s cargo pant. is only $30.00 and will give you a similar look. It’s worth a try, right??
