Blue and White Stripes: Our Favorite Summer Trend

Blue and white stripe shirts are always on our radar but for summer 2024, we love them! Chic and timeless, this shirt is this summer's sure bet. And there are so many ways to wear this trend from the classic button down shirt (as preferred by Harriet) or in more novel bodies ( as preferred by me); the choices are endless. We love them paired with bleached out bottoms, white or even darker denim hues. Today we are focusing on blue and white stripe woven tops but knits in stripes look just as fresh for summer. Some of our favorite looks follow….

With these looks Harriet is leaning towards clean and understated fashion, so the crisp blue and white stripe shirt is her “go to” This classic button down screams menswear but Harriet gives it a more feminine vibe. The shirt is one of her favorites from Bird of Paradis that she purchased a couple seasons ago. She pairs it with The Undercover from Mother, a high waisted wide leg white jean. The Clergerie leather platform is the perfect shoe as it easily accommodates the extended length of the Mother jean, enhancing a long and lean look. The skinny Gucci belt from Harriet’s closet is the perfect accessory for this look.

Harriet loves a button down shirt, so she can never have just one! Here she shows a second blue and white striped shirt, this one by Maeve, available at Antropologie. But Harriet has definitely changed the vibe in this pic. She pairs the shirt with The High Rise Crop Step Fray from Mother , then adds a white tank, ties up the shirt and, voila, an entirely new look.

You can’t have too much of a good thing, right? Another striped shirt, this one from Z Supply. Simply untucked and paired with a mid blue wash jean, the look here is pure summer casual comfort! The wide leg jean is from Mother, The Roller Fray.

Now on to a very different look. I tend to be a bit more feminine than Harriet. This Dream Cotton Gauze Dylan top from Faherty is perfect for warm summer days. I still like more fitted jeans, so I paired it with the Josefina from Seven for All Mankind. A mid-rise, button front, modified boyfireind silhoutte, this is one of my “go to” jeans. I have owned this jean for awhile but it is a staple on the Seven line. My sneaks are the Bali Tender from P448 and currently on sale. To accessorize I added a baseball cap from Madewell and a very old pair of Tom Ford sunglasses.

Blue and white striped woven tops have been a staple in my closet and this J Crew puff sleeve button front is a perfect example. I purchased it last year so it is no longer is in stock. My white pants are from AG; the Caden Trouser. This pant was also purchased last year but has become a staple on the AG line. Metallic accessories are always a favorite so I love these Bernardo sandels with this casual look. Add a straw fedora and you are ready for summer.

As you can see, blue and white stripes are summer staples for Harriet and me. Choose whatever style you love, accessorize it in your own special way and you are all ready for summer
